Ready to Learn? The Experiment is a major piece of education research designed to investigate the impact of factors such as diet, sleep, and exercise on children's readiness to learn.

More than 78,000 children at 682 schools took part in what was the largest ever experiment of its kind in March 2008.

Read our research outcomes for a full report on the findings as well as summaries for students. Or try our ready to learn activities to give you a snapshot of a pupil's cognitive abilities. These have been reversioned to allow teachers to use them for their own action research in schools.
