Get That Job - ...as a Headteacher
Elaine, Joy and Chris are members of the senior leadership team at Colne Community School in Essex. They all share an ambition to one day run their own school, but have they got what it takes?
In this programme, all three get the chance to prove they are capable of becoming their school's next headteacher. Each gives a presentation, undergoes a formal interview and takes part in an interactive task, designed to test their team and leadership skills.
Judging the candidates' performance: Jill Clough, consultant with the National College of Leadership Skills, Rosemary Prince, a schools advisor from Essex County Council, and two of the school governors, Sonia Grantham and Roger Carey-Smith.

The interview challenge20 May 2007 - 15:03What a great program, and so brave to fit it into a 15 minute time slot.
The program brought out key elements of interviewing for the most important member of staff, "your Head teacher".
I wanted to see and learn more as the program progressed.
The program was valuable to Governors, LEA and candidates alike.
I wish I had seen this before I was on the selection panel for members of staff for our school, (glad to see we where doing what was needed in a responsible manner).
