Primary ICT - Creating a Whiteboard Lesson
This programme features a collection of useful ideas and strategies that primary school teachers can use to get more out of their whiteboards.
Simon Botten has been using his whiteboard for five years. He takes us through ways in which teachers can exploit the whiteboard platform. How to effectively use the power of visual images, clip art, still images and video.
Simon also explores ways in which the whiteboard can help with whole lesson planning from the warm up and lesson objectives through to the final plenary.

Primary ICT Creating a whiteboard lesson27 May 2007 - 15:25This was great as an overview as to what can be achieved with a whiteboard. I would really appreciate a series of programmes looking at one aspect at a time, suitable for complete novices. Also, it would be useful to have links to websites containing suitable downloads for videos and Maths games.

Creating a Whiteboard Lesson8 September 2007 - 07:25Useful programme with sensible ideas and not too many of them. Am I the only person, though, who thinks that lots of IWBs are installed too high on the wall - good for teacher but too high for kids? Peter Halliday

Quicktime files26 April 2007 - 14:04Glad you liked the programme.
For several months now we have been creating Quicktime versions of new programmes to download, but we haven't gone through the entire back catalogue of programmes.
We will create a Quicktime version for this popular programme though. It should be available in the next two weeks.

Re : Just to help with other27 April 2007 - 21:07Just to help with other resources you might find; there are 'plugins' available for Quicktime on MacOSX which will allow you to play .wmv files, .avi, .div etc.. Some you may have to pay for but many are freeware. Remember also an upgrade to Quicktime Pro (£10 IIRC) will allow you to play full screen, though there are many Apple scripts which will do the same but without the fee for functions you may not need to use.
