Part of the series EYFS Today

Professor Christine Pascal and four practitioners from Birmingham and Leeds get to the essence of what it means to be a unique child, using clips from their own settings to stimulate debate.

Christine and the panel discuss the implications of the new EYFS and examine how some practitioners are interpreting its themes and commitments.

Using footage from the programmes in the series EYFS Today, in which the panel members appear, they discuss EYFS starting at birth, inclusive practice and how EYFS should encourage measured risk taking.

They also look at children's emotional and social awareness, and how to put in place an environment that nurtures the unique nature of every child.
