Old School stars Jim Carter as a teacher who wants his pupils to aim for the stars, but will the headteacher make him revise his high targets?

The play, written by James Ward, a religious studies teacher from Tunbridge Wells, is one of the winning scripts from the 2008 Staffroom Monologues competition. Following the play is a short interview with James.

Staffroom Monologues is a series of five short plays based on winning scripts from the 2008 competition run by Teachers TV, in association with the National Union of Teachers. Now in its second year, the series offers an alternate view of life in an educational environment, written by those who work within it.

  This was really heart warming and so well written. I think it had just the right balance/ counterpoint to keep you amused. not only that but thought provoking too. Good characterisation and something to think about at the same time. Excellent!
