Preparing for Inspections - Secondary
Former HMI Inspector Roy Blatchford speaks to three secondary headteachers who have recently been visited by Ofsted, and offers his tips on the inspection process.
The thought of Ofsted inspections can send a chill down the collective spines of school staff. Roy Blatchford believes that the most successful inspections are those where the headteacher leads the process.
Talking to headteachers and other key people about their inspection experiences, Roy covers everything from the Self-Evaluation Form to handling the draft report.

Preparing for Inspections - Secondary2 December 2008 - 22:53Although I teach and manage in Wales, and therefore Estyn are responsible for inspections rather than Ofsted, I found the advice on inspections useful and would endorse the gist of the comments made (we received seven grade 1's in our most recent inspection twelve months ago).
