literacy levels12 January 2010 - 14:50A masters degree demonstrates a high level of literacy and subject knowledge. The MTL is hoping to demonstrate teaching practice at a high level, making it a high status and highly qualified profession. If it also leads to increased respect for teaching as a profession then that would be a good thing.

literacy levels23 November 2009 - 09:52Government is spelt wrongly and the grammar is incorrect in your caption for this video. A masters degree in teaching and learning is not a good substitute for a high level of literacy and subject knowledge amongst teachers. In Finland, there is a culture of families reading together and I'm sure this is one of the major factors in their success.
