Climate Challenge - Money on Trees
A documentary-style look at how deforestation is affecting climate change, and what is being done to reduce its impact, including efforts in China and Brazil.
A quarter of greenhouse gases come from the destruction of forests, meaning ways of controlling deforestation and limiting the harmful gases produced are a high priority.
Nobel Peace Prize winner, Wangari Maathai, launched a campaign to plant a billion trees globally, raising awareness of the problems of deforestation. Now, reforestation projects are taking place in countries such as Brazil and China.
The video also looks at incentive schemes for preserving forests, including one set up by The Biocarbon Fund.
