Primary Creativity
In this episode of Action! Teacher Video, Nick Cannon from Jubilee Primary School in Hackney, east London, presents the short film, The World Was All Before Them.
Nick talks about the aims of the video and the action research carried out at the school. The video looks at Jubilee Primary's approach to developing a creative curriculum and features an opera project that focused on the diverse community of Hackney.
Presenter Xanthe Steen is joined in the studio by Nick, education consultant Adrienne Jones and teacher Patrick O'Neill, to discuss the project.
The panel talk about the importance of working with the diverse experience and knowledge base of a community and look at the key issues of a relaxed curriculum, building self-esteem and student voice.
The video is part of a unique showcase of videos made by teachers about their work in schools.
