KS3 Art and Design - The New Curriculum
Sophie Leach, subject leader in art and design at The Charter School in Dulwich, helps her pupils to explore themes of locality and identity.
The aim of this class is to encourage creativity, problem-solving and risk-taking, as the pupils are encouraged to research and give a brief presentation on four well known artists who work with inanimate objects.
In groups, pupils create their own sculptures from objects they've either brought from home or found in the classroom. Students then work with text to help describe the sculptures they've produced.
Finally the text is animated by the pupils and superimposed on their work, and each of the sculptures says something about themselves or their community.

Great teachers and students! Fantastic teamwork! Congratulations!
I'm searching for reconciliation processes that take place within the art curriculum. I think this is a wonderful example.
