Two solutions to supply and treat water in urban areas across the globe are explored.
In Orange County, Southern California the Groundwater Replenishment System is helping to address the scarcity of fresh, clean water by providing a drought-proof water source.
This helps to reduce the county's reliance on imported water and the amount of sewage water discharged into the ocean.
Meanwhile in London, Thames Water prepare to build a new tunnel to relieve pressure on the city's aging sewage system.
